Automated Marketplace Order Tracking in Odoo

Customer Overview

Parnells, a leading European seller of tyres, car parts, and a wide range of other products, faced challenges tracking sales across multiple marketplaces like Amazon, eBay, and ChannelEngine. They needed a solution to automatically tag orders by marketplace to improve reporting, analysis, and decision-making.

We have been providing them with ongoing customisations and support for many years. As one of the most trusted sellers in Europe, they rely on our ChannelEngine, Amazon, and eBay Apps, which are robust, scalable, and future-ready solutions.

Challenge

With orders coming from multiple platforms, Parnells struggled to:

  • Identify which marketplace each sale originated from
  • Compare marketplace performance efficiently
  • Reduce duplicate effort in reporting

Solution Overview

Parnells requested a powerful new feature in our apps — Automatic Partner Tagging at the Sales Order Level when an order is committed from ChannelEngine, eBay, or Amazon.

To address this, our team:

  • Gathered requirements and analysed existing business processes
  • Designed a tagging workflow and finalised it with customer approval
  • Implemented the solution within their Odoo system

Now, when orders are imported or synced from Amazon, eBay, or ChannelEngine, the system automatically assigns partner tags at the order level. These tags integrate with Sales, Website, POS, and Reporting.

Impact & Benefits

This automation allows Parnells to:

  • Instantly identify the marketplace a sale originated from.
  • Compare the best and least performing marketplaces.
  • Improve business strategies based on marketplace performance insights.
  • Eliminate duplicate effort, improve reporting accuracy, and save time.

Configurations

We provided Parnells with a configuration screen to define partner tags for eBay, ChannelEngine, and Amazon.

Tags can be set country-wise or by sub-marketplace, enabling flexible tracking across multiple marketplaces.

For Amazon Orders

Go to Amazon App > Amazon Marketplaces, where partner tags can be set for each country-specific marketplace.

For eBay Orders

Go to eBay App > eBay Instances, where partner tags can be defined for each instance.

For ChannelEngine Orders

Go to ChannelEngine App > Channel Name (Marketplace Name), where partner tags can be set for each channel instance.

How to Use

Each Sales Order includes a “Partner Tags” field, with the ability to assign multiple tags per order.

Partner tags are visible in the Sales Orders list and pivot views, and grouping by partner tags provides marketplace-level insights.

This feature enables sellers like Parnells to track, analyse, and optimise marketplace sales performance in one unified system, directly within Odoo.
