Streamlining Local Deliveries for Jack Fitzgerald Electrical

JFE’s Introduction

by Khurram Iftikhar

The journey began over three decades ago when Jack Fitzgerald first established his electrical enterprise on Lower Shannon Street. From humble origins, focusing primarily on heating solutions, Jack Fitzgerald Electrical has evolved into the largest electrical emporium in Limerick City. Today, it stands as the go-to destination for a comprehensive array of electrical products, boasting an extensive inventory capable of meeting the diverse needs of its cherished customers.

Key Challenges in Local Deliveries

Key challenges associated with the third-party system included:

  • Lack of integration, leading to manual adjustments of stock levels and valuation post-delivery.
  • Absence of automated generation of delivery documents from sales orders.
  • Inability to provide drivers with delivery schedules before the actual delivery date.
  • Failure to generate customer invoices based on delivered items.
  • Unavailability of a customer portal for tracking delivery status.
  • Inability to capture customer e-signatures and images as proof of delivery in a centralised location.
  • Lack of tools for tracking payment statuses.

Numla’s Solution: Delivery Route Planning App

To tackle this challenge, we introduced our cloud-based Numla ERP system, complemented by a suite of other applications including inventory, sales, and purchase management, barcode scanning, accounting, e-commerce, and point of sale. Additionally, we developed and implemented a sophisticated Delivery Route Planning Application. This app seamlessly integrated with all other systems and offered a user-friendly interface with the same functionalities.

With this app in place:

1. When sales orders are confirmed, delivery documents are generated automatically, and stock levels are adjusted upon delivery automatically.

3. Through the customer portal, clients can conveniently track their order delivery status, invoice status, and payment status, as well as collaborate with suppliers.

4. The mobile version of the delivery app allows drivers to navigate to the correct locations, capture customer e-signatures, and attach images.

5. The map view feature enables plan managers to monitor real-time delivery status.

6. An advanced notification system notifies drivers and customers in advance about delivery times and dates.
